There are a few things I discovered in 2011 that have become my “can’t live without and would bring on a desert island” staples. The list is short — primarily because I’m a huge believer in “less is more” — and all of these aren’t new to the marketplace . . . just new to me. Maybe you’ve been using them already, and if so, hey! . . . why didn’t you tell me about them sooner?
Here goes, and please let me know about any products that are “must-haves” for 2012 . . . HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Pale Pink
This was voted one of the best cream blushes by MakeUpAlley.com. It’s a bit pricy but it lasts and lasts because you only use a tiny bit. It’s fabulous on the lips, too: sheer, moisturizing, with just a nice hint of perfect pink color.
Stila Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
When I decided to run in the NYC Marathon a few months ago, I wanted to make sure I looked as pretty as possible after racing 26.2 miles through five boroughs. I went to my local Sephora and asked them to point me to the best eyeliner, the one that will stay on . . . no matter what. The only one they showed me was Stila’s Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. I applied it at 6am before taking off for the start of the marathon, and it was still on — with no smudging whatsoever — at 6pm that night. Even after two glasses of champagne and a hot bath. Must, must have.
MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush
I bought this almost a year ago and it’s still full! It’s the perfect neutral shade for any skin tone. I just add a little bit under my eyebrows and a tad to the center of each of my eyelids to make them really pop.
I can’t wait to see what 2012 brings . . .
