Why a weekly newsletter focused on menopause and its impact on the long term overall health and wellbeing of women over 40?
Because as it turns out, all roads lead to menopause – a normal, natural and life changing experience that isn’t always so easy to navigate or understand.
Many of us experience what we call the Terrible Menopause Trifecta (TMT) – hot flashes, sleepless nights and mood swings – the most common symptoms of menopause.
But menopause can kickstart changes that go way beyond the TMT.
Did you ever think about how your body changes permanently as a direct result of menopause?
Well, as an author (“Love Your Age” and “The Best of Everything After 50”) who focuses on successful aging, I think about this a lot, and so does Dr. Margaret Nachtigall, founding member of the North American Menopause Society, Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone Health, sought after speaker, and media expert on women’s health.
Together, we created Menopause Cheat Sheet, a weekly guide to navigating the ups and downs of one of life’s biggest changes for women who are peri-menopausal, menopausal, and post-menopausal – in other words, for all women over 40.
Each week we will explore the latest research that answers some of our biggest questions about menopause such as . . .
- What happens to our brains, hearts, bones?
- What impact does menopause – and the drop in estrogen that causes menopause – have on our sex lives, waistlines, moods, skin, hair?
- How does menopause affect how well we age?
- How can we get companies to recognize menopause and offer more support to women in the workplace?
- What is the latest scoop on hormone therapy?
These are just some of the questions so many women have that prompted us to create Menopause Cheat Sheet.
